A Joy At Work Experiment: Create Your Ideal Tuesday

Research shows us that consistent small experiences of joy contribute more to overall happiness than big sporadic events.  By crafting your ideal normal Tuesday, from what time you wake up to your evening wine down, you'll gain clarity about what truly matters to you.

In the hustle and bustle of professional life in our 40s, 50s and 60s, it's easy to lose sight of what truly matters and many of us find ourselves questioning, What do I really want out of life?

One powerful way to refocus is to create a vision of your dream normal day.  Not a fantasy weekend day filled with yachts and champagne, but your best possible regular Tuesday.

A Tuesday where your priorities align with the very small actions you take. Where making sure your needs are fulfilled. And that enough satisfaction is baked into your everyday routine.

By envisioning your ideal normal Tuesday, from what time you wake up to your evening wind down, you'll gain clarity about what truly matters to you.

The Joy At Work Experiment:  5 Steps to Design Your Best Possible Regular Tuesday

Your challenge this week. Follow these 5 steps to map out your ideal Tuesday one year from now. Then be sure to write it down, create a vision board, or just discuss it with a friend to share and gather ideas.

Step One: Review your environment. Reflecting on your everyday environment can help you spot gaps between your current reality and your dreams.

Step Two: Rethink your daily routines.  Mapping out your habits reveals what energizes and grounds you.

Step Three: Define work / life balance.  Considering these details can highlight areas that need adjustment to make work more fulfilling and energizing.

Step Four:  Focus on people and passions.  Knowing who and what rejuvenates you is key to designing a fulfilling day.

Step Five:  Prioritize joy and restoration.  Your dream day isn't just about productivity, but creating moments that restore you.
